Helpful Information for a Comfortable Journey

Customs / Visa requirements:
- All foreign visitors to the Republic of Madagascar require entry visa. Visa for stays of less than 3 months may be obtained at the airport (fee of 30 000 Ariary or the equivalent of 14.00 / 15.00 U$). Exemptions for visa requirements apply for seaman.
- Entry and exit regulations apply for residents of Madagascar. E.g: They must possess a valid passport with a validity not less than 6 months from their return date.
- Health insurance coverage required for entry into Schengen countries.
- Take note of yours rights authorized by the customs. E.g: Non-resident may carry up to 1 Kg of jewels upon presentation of a document certifying foreign currency exchange.
- An amount of 400 000 Ariary is permitted for the passenger at each trip into or out of the country.
Health Care:
- For your health, vaccinations are requested upon entry/exit
- Malaria prophylaxis recommended.
- A yellow fever vaccination certificate is required from passengers travelling from or to infected areas.
- Restrictions apply for the export of fruits and vegetables. - Proper documentation needs to be presented to the phytosanitary control. 
- Import and export of meat or meat products prohibited.   
Check-in:
- Certain conditions apply for children travelling unaccompanied. Infants travel free-of-charge within the Domestic Network.
